NEEP's Commercial Buildings and Technologies Initiative focuses on the fundamental goal of improving energy efficiency in commercial and industrial buildings.
Throughout the region, expanded programs focus on improved efficiency and energy performance that address the integration of technologies and best practices in building systems such as lighting system design and HVAC systems, systems integration through commissioning and retro-commissioning, and whole building efficiency (shell measures, HVAC, lighting, appliances) programs.
Through this initiative, NEEP facilitates strategic coordination of the region's efficiency programs to meet aggressive state energy savings and environmental goals and related policy activities. The initiative integrates the range of issues and opportunities that program administrators deal with, including energy efficiency practices, technologies, community and market-based initiatives, and other demand resources. In all its facets, the initiative remains focused on progress toward net zero energy and exceeding rapidly rising baselines relative to both new and existing buildings.
NEEP engages with the region's rate-payer funded energy efficiency program administrators in several specific projects that relate to the Commercial Buildings and Technologies Initiative. These include the Regional Initiative Working Group, Coordinated Upstream Activities, Engagement of National Activities, and Strategy Development and Deployment. NEEP's efforts in regional initiatives and public policy link for the sole purpose of realizing the markets' transformations towards energy efficiency. They are not possble without the coordinated effort of both business units. Here are a collection of Public Policy Projects that specficially relate to this Initiative.
NEEP's work could not be possible without the support of our Sponsors. Click here for a list of organizations who sponsor this Initiative.
