
Maine law (Sub Chapter 1A) states that all schools must be designed to reduce energy usage by 20 percent using the Maine Energy Code as a baseline. The Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) runs an initiative called Efficiency Maine which can offer grants to any new school in the state.
