An ongoing project, NEEP undertakes communications, media outreach, public relations and general visibility activities to:
- Support the NEEP mission and the goals and objectives of the organization as a whole,
- Raise the visibility of energy efficiency and its benefits among key influencers, including media and other organizations.
NEEP achieves this by:
- Producing and disseminating a quarterly newsletter to inform audiences of key energy efficiency program and policy happenings.
- Tracking media coverage to identify opportunities for visibility.
- Performing media outreach to impact coverage and heighten visibility of energy efficiency.
- Producing press releases, media advisories and other materials to heighten visibility and position NEEP and its partners as experts in the field of energy efficiency.
- Updating and maintaining visibility kits to use with media and other key audiences.
- Producing and disseminating NEEP's Annual Report to qualify organizational and partner successes and make them known to public audiences.
- Upgrading and maintaining the NEEP Web site as a key communications vehicle.
- Producing quarterly reports of NEEP activities for funders, Initiative Sponsors and other interested stakeholders.
These activities are POC staff driven, though NEEP facilitates opportunities among its partners for visibility opportunities and coordinates a network of partners, including policymakers, to inform current events in energy efficiency policy.
