NEEP Announcements

Chris JoannidesChristopher Joannides, of Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) in New Jersey, the 2004-2005 Vice President of the NEEP Board of Directors, recently retired from the Board. His departure coincides with his retirement from PSE&G.

Chris had served on the NEEP Board for nine of the organization's 10 years of existence. During his tenure, he held numerous leadership positions, including treasurer, vice president and, in 2003-2003, president of the Board. At its annual meeting in May, the NEEP Board honored Chris with a proclamation of appreciation, as well as a gift of golf lessons to help him pursue one of his new leisure time passions.

In bidding farewell to the Board, Chris noted that his service to NEEP had been made that much easier by a set of shared valuesI.

"It's very easy to be energetic and enthusiastic about an organization where your personal values are very much in line with the values of the organization," he noted, "and that's been the case with NEEP over the years."

Penni McLean-Connor, vice president for customer care at NSTAR Electric & Gas, will succeed Christopher Joannides as Vice President of NEEP's Board of Directors. Daniel Zaweski, director of energy efficiency and distributed generation for Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), has been elected to serve as NEEP's new Treasurer.
