2007 Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit will Explore the Advantages of Efficiency
In a time of rising energy costs and widespread concern about the impacts of global climate change, increasing the region’s investments in energy efficiency is vital for our economy and our environment. The 2007 Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit: Efficiency as a Competitive Advantage will address this issue through a day long conference, exhibition and evening dinner event that encourages policymakers, business leaders, and community members to adopt policies and practices that significantly increase energy efficiency as an economic development strategy for the Northeast.
Conference
The Summit will open with a full day conference featuring speakers and panel discussions by top policy and business leaders. Attendees will learn about energy efficiency policies that support economic development and will discover successful examples of the business applications of energy efficiency. Speakers include:

Exhibition
To complement the conference proceedings, the Summit will feature an exhibition of leading-edge energy efficiency products and services for the residential, commercial, industrial and government sectors. Exhibits from energy efficiency technology and service providers, retailers and consultants will be available for Summit participants to enjoy throughout the day.
Business Leaders Recognition Dinner
The 2007 Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit will conclude with an evening dinner celebration honoring business leaders for their energy efficiency accomplishments and their commitment to investing in energy efficiency as a competitive business strategy. To qualify for this honor, business leaders must be nominated by their utility company or energy efficiency program administrator, and are selected for recognition based on the following criteria:
- Quantifiable energy savings
- Investment and cost effectiveness
- Comprehensiveness
- Commitment to continued improvement in energy performance
- Operational impact
- Business leadership
This year’s celebration will include a keynote address from David Goldstein, Energy Program Director for the Natural Resources Defense Council and author of the book Saving Energy, Growing Jobs. Stay tuned for the announcement of the 2007 Business Leaders for Energy Efficiency honorees.
