April & May 2010
SEEN & HEARD

• NEEP enjoyed seeing many of you at our 2010 Summit in Boston. Thanks for making this year one of our most successful yet!

• Carolyn Sarno, manager of the High Performance Buildings program, testified before the Maryland House Economic Matters Committee regarding HB 985, a bill that would require energy benchmarking and disclosure in public and commercial buildings. Carolyn stressed that the bill would help consumers value energy efficiency and improve Maryland's economy and environment.

• Policy Outreach Manager Natalie Hildt testified before the Efficiency Maine Trust on their draft Triennial Plan. NEEP supported the overall direction of the plan, but expressed concern that proposed funding levels would make it very difficult for Maine to reach the long-term savings targets laid forth in the Efficiency Maine Trust Act.

• Don Vigneau and Mark Tebbets from NEEP's Building Codes team participated in the New York Rhode Island, and Vermont energy codes hearings. The New York and Rhode Island codes have now been finalized for regulation endorsement.
