Northeast Strategic Energy Management Collaborative Workshop

This collaborative workshop was co-organized with Efficiency Vermont.

Strategic Energy Management (SEM) offers a potential pathway to new energy savings opportunities for energy efficiency programs in the commercial and industrial sectors. The Northeast SEM Collaborative Workshop is a continuation of the Northeast Regional CEI discussion group and aims to address important questions regarding incorporation of SEM offerings into energy efficiency programs. 

 

Welcome and Introduction

Session 1- Level setting for Strategic Energy Management

  • SEM 101 (what is it, what are the benefits, etc)
  • How SEM has been utilized by energy efficiency programs
  • Estimating potential savings in region

Session 2 - Sharing experiences on SEM planning and implementation

  • Why was your program attracted to SEM?
  • What delivery models do you use/plan to use? What are the specific mechanics of this model?
  • How much does it cost to start up an SEM program?
  • How much savings can be expected from SEM offerings?
  • Do the energy savings justify the investment?
  • How have programs evolved/blended their current industrial offerings with SEM programs?
  • Lessons Learned: What is working and what is not?
  • How did you get started in your planning?
