New York Governor George Pataki: Leadership in Policy and Government
NEEP salutes our region’s political leaders who strongly support policies that increase investments in energy efficiency in our region. The Leadership in Policy and Government award recognize policymakers who have made significant advancements in the creation of policies that increase investments in energy efficiency and set the bar for other states and regions in the U.S. Gov. Pataki was invited to accept this award on behalf of the seven Northeast governors who signed the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) agreement in December 2005 including Gov. Codey of New Jersey, Gov. Rell of Connecticut, Gov. Douglas of Vermont, Gov. Lynch of New Hampshire, Gov. Baldacci of Maine, and Gov. Minner of Delaware.
Bart Harvey, Chairman and CEO, Enterprise Community Partners: Leadership in Solutions for Low Income and Affordable Housing
Finding affordable solutions for low income families is a vitally important component of the energy efficiency efforts for residents in the Northeast. The Leadership in Solutions for Low Income and Affordable Housing award honors and recognizes significant strides in creating sound solutions that address the energy needs for low income or families and in developing affordable housing projects. This award was presented to Bart Harvey of Enterprise Community Partners.
John Adams, Founding Director, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC): Leadership to Advance Energy Efficiency to Protect the Environment
There are a select few extraordinary individuals who have risen to the challenge of successfully advocating energy efficiency as a core element of environmental protection.The Leadership to Advance Energy Efficiency to Protect the Environment award goes to a leader who has demonstrated his passion and success in advancing policies to increase energy efficiency in the region over the last ten years. John Adams of NRDC accepted this award and in turn recognized other leaders of energy efficiency advocacy in the Northeast including: The American Council for an Energy-Efficienct Economy, Conservation Law Foundation, Environment Northeast, Northeast Energy Efficiency Council, Pace Energy Project, Public Interest Research Group and the Regulatory Assistance
Project.
