This is a new 70,000 square foot, one story masonry building with metal stud backup walls.It will house 550 students.The site is a former sod farm heavily contaminated with Dealdryne, an agricultural pesticide. Extensive remediation efforts were undertaken by the district to clean the site and make it suitable to build the school on.

Originally a daytime vocational school, MCVST is transforming itself into a full time high school. It will continue to offer full vocational and career classes. In changing to a full time high school, the Board of Education wanted the building to reflect its new image and cutting edge technological curriculum and pursuing a LEED Gold rating seemed a natural fit.
